African Spring Festival on May 23
On Saturday, May 23, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., AES is having an African Spring Festival at Lonnie Young Recreation Center, 1100 East Chelten Avenue. We invite you to come out to enjoy the music, dances, and cuisine.
Children are welcome. There is no charge for the event, but a $5 donation would be appreciated. Your donation will help us with our goal of helping those in Africa who are in dire need. The proceeds from the festival go to Africare, an organization committed to work in partnership with African communities in order to achieve healthy and productive societies. Africare has delivered more than $350 million in assistance, representing more than 2,000 projects and over 6.5 million direct beneficiaries to 35 countries. Your presence, together with any donation you may be able to make, will further the sorority’s initiative to help Africans. For information about the event call 215-242-1610.

Congratulations to the Project Africa Committee for a wonderful African Spring Festival! Whenever you do an event for the first time, you can never be sure what to expect. I'm sure all of us in attendance where thrilled to see a packed event. The turnout was amazing. If you were unable to attend this year, you want to be sure to attend next year!
