Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., an international leading service organization was founded November 12, 1922 on the campus of Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana by seven women educators of African American heritage. As an international service organization Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. has more than 85,000 multi-cultural members with over 500 chapters in the United States, Canada (Alberta and British Columbia), Europe, Asia (Soviet Union), China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Bermuda, Virgin Islands, the Bahamas and the Philippines.

The aim of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. is to enhance the quality of life within our communities through public service, leadership development, education of our youth and H3 Health Initiatives: ”It’s All About Me -- Healthy Choices, Healthy Living, Healthy Generations.”
